At the library yesterday I also picked up a number of reference books for the current body of work I’m doing (works on paper, tentatively called “Natural History”). I now have on my desk field guides to the butterflies of the eastern US, the wildflowers of North Carolina and birds. I already had a field guide to birds, but it is illustrated and I wanted to check out photos too.

(This isn’t actually the bird book I have, but isn’t that bluebird cute?!)

I also picked up a “field guide” to the works of William Morris. Researching him is long overdue, quite frankly.

(This one is the book I have.)
