My reading list is quite weighted towards cookbooks right now. Friends visiting the house have noticed that the cookbook shelf seems to be expanding. I counted and realized that eight new ones have established themselves there so far this year. As in, 2011; not since-last-August. Matt commented that they are ever narrower in scope and more intense in focus. Fermentation! Ice Cream! Fancy desserts! Korean food! Local/ seasonal eating! And while this might sound excessive to some, it’s not so uncommon to find me curled up on the couch reading about vanilla beans or honey wine or farmers markets… or just recipes.
