Colored pencil sketches of animals on newsprint from photo reference. Pencil on sketch paper from life. Chameleons are funny, cool animals. They don’t need very much exaggeration to become fully formed characters.

Colored pencil drawings of grotesques from illuminated manuscripts. These figures are mostly not very grotesque, in spite of their name. A few have mean brows or pointy teeth, but the scariest thing about them is that they don’t have the right number or arrangement of limbs. In the manuscripts, they were mostly just sitting there with silly smiles in the middle of mille fleur meadows.
